Parliamentary and Sámi Parliamentary Elections 2025
In 2025, there will be elections for the Storting and the Sámi Parliament. You can vote in both elections at the same time, but you must be registered in the Sámi Parliament's electoral roll in order to vote in the Sámi parliamentary election.
Parliamentary Election
The Storting is Norway’s national legislature and consists of 169 representatives from across the country.
During parliamentary elections, the country is divided into 19 electoral districts, which largely follow the old county boundaries. This means that Skaun Municipality belongs to the Sør-Trøndelag electoral district.
Parliamentary elections are held in September every four years, with the next one taking place on September 8th 2025.
Sámi Parliamentary Election
The Sámi parliamentary election is held at the same time as the parliamentary election, every four years. All Sámi who are registered in the Sámi Parliament’s electoral roll have the right to vote.
Because there are fewer than 30 registered Sámi voters residing in Skaun Municipality, we will only offer early voting and advance voting for the Sámi parliamentary election.
During early and advance voting, you can vote in Skaun regardless of which electoral district you belong to. You can also cast your vote in other municipalities, even if you live in Skaun Municipality.
